The prize-winning Sterling White Halibut

Sterling White Halibut – the gourmet fish for special occations - is one of Marine Harvest’s prize-winning products. The white halibut is farmed on the west coast of Norway at Hjelmeland.

Sterling White Halibut was chosen as main ingredient at the Bocuse d’Or, the world championship for chefs, in 2007. Two representatives from Bocuse d’Or came all the way from Lyon to Hjelmeland the week before to select the fish themselves. Both the size, firmness and colour are important parameters when choosing ingredients for such an exclusive food event.

Marine Harvest was also awarded the Seafood Award for innovation in seafood 2007 for the Sterling White Halibut product, together with the McDonald’s wrap.

The white halibut is sold fresh as whole fish, steaks and fillets.
