Sourcing of fish from wild catch is a central sustainability concern. This is important to Marine Harvest in two ways.
The value added processing (VAP) activities obtain a portion of their raw material fish directly from the commercial fisheries, and the fish farming activities of Marine Harvest indirectly consume fish from the commercial reduction fisheries as the fishmeal and fish oil in fish feed are made from wild caught fish.
