Qmarine

At Marine Harvest, we are serious about corporate responsibility. For us this means being a positive presence in the societies in which we operate, as well as providing seafood of high quality and safety. Qmarine is our Total Quality System for a sustainable business delivering Seafood for a Better Life.

At Marine Harvest, we work to provide sustainable seafood of assured high quality and safety. We hold the safety, health and human rights of our employees as a core value. We strive to minimise our impact on the environment and to operate in a responsible manner towards society at local, national and international levels.

To embed corporate responsibility into our everyday working lives, we have integrated it in practical terms into our company-wide Total Quality System called Qmarine. Qmarine defines our principles and practices that apply throughout Marine Harvest.

Qmarine holds our global standards that ensure we are responsible towards society, the natural world, ourselves and our shareholders.

Qmarine is organised in six strategic areas that we continuously develop with new and improved practices.

The six strategic areas are:

  1. Food safety
  2. Food quality
  3. Fish welfare
  4. Environmental responsibility
  5. Social responsibility
  6. Quality assurance

We will report on these topics in the Marine Harvest Corporate Responsibility Report, which will be available on this website in May 2008.

Within each of the Qmarine strategic areas we have identified the most important topics and issues. For each of these we have developed, or are developing, standard operating procedures to ensure we act with the same methods and standards at all locations.

Where we believe we can improve, we have action programmes to identify and develop better ways of working. For example, Marine Harvest technical specialists from around the world meet regularly to discuss latest progress and identify most effective practices.
