Irish Quality Eco-Salmon Standard

Marine Harvest Ireland has obtained the first Eco Label certification for farmed salmon from the Irish Sea Fisheries Board (BIM).

This certification is awarded to salmon growers adhering to stringent environmental management practices in all aspects of their business. Marine Harvest Ireland is the first company to qualify for BIM's Eco-Salmon Standard.

Jan Feenstra, Managing Director of Marine Harvest Ireland says:  "Marine Harvest’s accreditation under BIM’s Irish Quality Eco-Salmon Scheme highlights Marine Harvest’s reputation as a pioneer in the seafood sector both at home and abroad".

At the European Seafood Exposition in Brussels, april 2008, the Minister of State with special responsibility for Fisheries at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Mr. John Browne, T.D., joined the Irish Sea Fisheries Board in congratulating Marine Harvest Ireland with the certification.
